Hi guys - Quick question to fellow Diabetes friends and professionals out there, im looking for advice re a meter.
I was happily using my Accu Chek Aviva expert as issued by my DSN and Dafne team, It was perfect for me as you log doses, and, if set up properly will advise you of dosages and corrections if you add your carb intake, It also downloaded fine to its own software on my windows PC, something else important to me as i am a professional driver with class C1/D1 so need to keep testing evidence for the DVLA Medical interviews (joy!!).
For the last year i have been on a clinical trial using the trials Freestyle Optimum Neo meter - useless! the only positive in this meter in my opinion is the Ketone testing facility. The actual meter is flimsy, and ended up using twice as many test strips to get it to work - more temperamental than Arkwrights till!! After the trial i returned to my Accu Chek Aviva expert, and since its last use i have upgraded to a MacBook pro. I contacted Accu chek to ask for different software to be told rather bluntly that their stuff is not compatible with mac so... move on basically!! - now to the question.....
Can anyone recommend a decent meter that does the lot!! BM testing, carb entry, dosage advice and correction, Ketone measurement and with a computer programme compatible with Apple. I think Accu Chek are missing a massive trick here personally! - If it doesn't exist will someone invent one please!!
Thanks in Advance xx
