am puzzled as to why this hangover problem only occurred after you had been diagnosed, most T2 are likely to have had diabetes for a significantly length of time before being found in a routine blood or urine test.
Hello my name is Tam and yes that is Scottish and the usual stereotypical name for the drunk on casualty/holby city etc. I was diagnosed type 2 in 2005 and started on 4 metformin right away as although I tried a low carb diet my fasting blood glucose was around 12 to 15. I have always had a beer or whisky whenever I fancied while taking metformin with no ill effects. 18 months ago I was on four metformin, two gliclazide and one pioglitazone and weighed 130 kgms. After carefully monitoring my blood sugar to see which foods made my bg rise I cut out all the bad stuff which was very surprising. I am now completely drug free and weighing in at a tiny 95 kgms. My Hba1c's are 5.9 and my colestorol 3.6 I have achieved all this by simply avoiding GLUTEN. Try it
