METFORMIN ? Can it cause extreme tiredness and hot flushes

Have only been on Metformin for four days but am walking around like a zombie, so tired and feel like I'm not really on this planet. Needless to say I feel a bit nervous of going out and especially driving whilst feeling this way. Anyone else had this problem or could it be unconnected to the T2 Diabetes?

I am a T1 diabetic i know it can upset your stomach, but i am wondering whether you may have thyroid problems or may be a vitamin deficiency as i know people on Metformin or insulin can have a vitamin B12 problem as we apparently don't absorb this from our diets properly. I would advice you call your out of hours surgery if you really feel that bad.

I have been on Metformin for several years, I get tired, and also suffer from horrid facial sweating, and generally being hot and flushing when other are really cold, so I think there may be a link.
