Metformin tablet for type 1 diabetes

hi i was thinking about asking my docter for metformin tablet for spikes that ocurr after i eat i use a isulin pump and would like to hear from some one that has used this with type 1 diabetes and what they found the benefits was
 
spikes due to food, can be sorted via the pump without taking metformin, people who usally take metformin is because they built up more insulin resitance.

do you do your insulin 15mins be4 you eat?
if you're multi waving alot maybe do it for less time ~.~
