Hi

as a result of the wonderful Icelandic Volcanoe I've missed out on my medication (Glimepiride 3mg/1 per day - Metformin 500mg/6 per day - Simvastatin 40mg/1 per day - Ramipril 10 mg/ 1per day) until getting back to the UK today - just tested my bloods & even though tried to watch diet very carefully over last week it's currently at 19.5.

Any advice on re-starting my medication regime - i.e. exactly as it was before - can't get hold of my GP as no appointments available - as per usual!!!

Thanks in advance

Hi - glad you managed to get back relatively safe and sound.

I would ring your surgery and explain the situation - even if the GP speaks to you over the phone with advice what to do - be insistent tell them your BS are very high and that you need to see or at least speak to a doctor- my mum always tells me "the squeaky wheel gets the most oil" - or you could try phoning the NHS helpline.

Keep an eye on yourself and if you start to feel ill or your BS go higher get yourself to A&E

Good luck
