monitor usage

I have tested myself using a previous monitor that my dad used last year (he is type 2) but I'm using his test strips, which are obviously in date. Should I still get an accurate enough reading? I know there's meter variance but I've done separate tests in the space of 2 weeks, almost 2 hours after eating and numbers were normal.

I guess it's more important the test strips are in date than the monitor being brand new?

Meter age should bear no relevance. Strips if in date and stored correctly will give an accurate reading.
As with your recent post, a visit to your GP should provide more relevant information/results regarding diabetes.
