Hello. I don't know if this is the right thread for this discussion. I'm new here.
I'm weaning myself off Insulin ATM (type 2) I was put on it during pregnancy so I'm currently on metformin and gliclazide. I've noticed as soon as I wake up my sugar reading will spike dramatically. Why is that? And how can I prevent it?
Thanks
It's a much talked about discussion on this forum and is known as the dawn phenomenon , it's your bodies natural response were your liver gives you a boast of glucose to get you up and running in the morning , it happens to non diabetics as well and as long as it doesn't go to high for too long not really worth worrying yourself about and is not really preventable .
