Mostly good at sticking to Low carb diet but weekends have a treat. Is this bad for a T2 ?

I walk 20 miles a week. I eat the right, low carb foods and the weight is steadily shifting. Currently 4 St overweight. Have lost 2 St since January. Diagnosed T2 a month ago. I'm trying to stick to Michael Moseley eight week blood sugar diet but after 1 month and a week's holiday in Hong Kong I've eaten some junk food. I'm back on track but does anyone know if I need to start again with the diet?

Not done it myself but maybe stick an extra week on the end to see how you do.. what are you aiming for? Blood glucose control or weight loss? Personally I got my glucose under control by Low Carbing which also helped me lose the weight but its different for everyone. Whatever works best for you. The 8 week diet probablyisn't a miracle cure though you will need to watch what you eat on an ongoing basis.
Are you monitoring you blood glucose levels with a meter. That's a great way of seeing if what you eat causes your levels to rise and then you can avoid that food in future.

Were you told not to test by your GP at diagnosis - I was. The only way to find out what the outcome would be of taking 2 days 'off', is testing your bloods before eating the carbs, and again 2hrs later. (well this is what I understand from reading posts on here, but I'm no medic).
