Since I have being diagnosed with T1 Diabetes, I have never consumed a Pizza and the only query is that I am not sure that Mozzarella Cheese that is used in the Pizza bases is suitable for us T1's
I love pizza, and mozzerela.
Mozerella tomato and basil salads...yum.
Make sure you get decent, italian/french style ones, with a really thin crust. They are quite high in fat, so that slows the carb absorption down.
You might have to split your fast acting dose and maybe take half an hour or two later.
Mozerella is absolutely fine for us. There really isn't a cheese that isn't.
Thanks ever so much for putting my mind at rest as at the moment I'm currently visiting Australia for holiday and I have spoken to the local Pizza take away shop's proprietor (who actually is Italian) regarding my condition and he will offer to put a substituted cheese base for my order if Mozzarella was unsuitable. I will let him know that this will be unnecessary.
pretty much any cheese is very low carb, even naughty things like Boursin. I don't know what I'd do without cheese. The pizza base is more of a problem for me...
