Multiple site testing

My husband has just been put on medication as his blood sugar was very high and he has to test his levels very frequently for the next few days. His fingers are very sensitive now and he also plays flutes.(He knows where to take the blood for minimum pain.) Is multiple site testing an option for him? It is possible with the meter he has but the manual says that results can differ substantially from those taken from the finger tip.

Any thoughts or advice would be gratefully received.

I always test on my forearms - I just find it too painful to test on my fingers as they seem to stay painful for ages. Not good if you are testing frequently during the day!

Yes, the levels do vary between sites. I did do a few tests when I first got my meter to see how much the readings vary but was satisfied that it wasn't enough to make me stop testing on my forearms.

I too use forearms. there's a bit of difference, but I'm told you can minimise this by rubbibg the site first.
