The first three days, which was the first time my blood sugar was perfect in over two years, I got so nauseous and faint that I had to leave work and go to the emergency room, where they told me I was perfectly healthy.
My doctor thinks that my body adapted to the higher levels, and bringing it down suddenly made me react in a bad way.
It's possible that your mom's body is used to the higher levels, and bringing it down so suddenly is making her ill. Maybe you should raise her blood glucose again to just a bit lower than it was, and slowly bring it down over the course of a couple months. That's what I'm supposed to be doing, anyway.
