when i came home form school one day... i just fell down and fainted and i was diagnosed with typhoid... then after a long period of treatment still there was something making me lose weight and the doctors kept giving me wrong medicines... THE GAVE ME DEXETRO GLUCOSE... this caused a killer attack of DKA and i also got into a severe body trauma... then i also went into comma state... doctors were unsure about my survival... but i survived and at that time i was told that i was type 1 diabetic... now whenever i go to an endocrnologist he tells me my case is very simple, and he does not believe that i wentt through all this and survived. I was a miracle for doctors in icu. I take pen insulin, lantus 8 units and novorapid 4 units before every meal. Now what I wanna ask is that its my third week with newly diagnosed diabetes and i am really curious about the honey moon period thing... what is it? how long does it last and how many chances do i have for developing it coz my diabetition told me that i have chances but in some cases it also does not occur... please help me out
Kind Regards

Firstly, ahh that sounds like you haven't had an easy time! Welcome as well, it's great you're here..

The honeymoon period thing isn't too much to get excited about, it's just a time near when you're diagnosed where your pancreas produces some insulin, but it just means you have to adjust your doses while it's happening, and when it stops you will have to adjust again afterwards. You can probably read about it online somewhere

I think thats right, it's not really very technical my explination! Haha I don't remember if I had a honeymoon period or not
