My father type 2

Hi @John1974 and welcome to the forum.

I'm afraid no one on the forum can advise on how much insulin your father should receive to keep his diabetes under control, you need to ask his HCP's as they are the best people to ask.

I agree with @noblehead that you need professional advice on this.
Maybe schedule an appt for the two of you to discuss it with whoever normally treats your father?

And (I am going through this with my parents at the moment), it would be very helpful if your father is willing to sign a letter of consent to allow medical staff to interact with you on his behalf. My parents have written a letter giving me authorisation, but they need to redo it, because the wording was not correct.. I am sure you can find examples of appropriate wording on the internet.

Without such authorisation, medical staff cannot deal directly with you, and if you are going to be helping your father with his injections and blood tests, then you will need more info than you currently have!

yeh I agree with what others have said, best to see his doc for that advice Sorry to hear though. The steroids he's on would contribute to higher sugar levels too which is another reason you need to get docs advice. I wish you and your dad the best.
