Having plateaued for 4/5 weeks and then gained 1 1/2lbs i thought I would have a look at my fitness pal. Breakfast and snacks were OK as I scanned the barcode and it gave me all the information. However lunch and tea were more difficult. For lunch I had a salad with lots of different things in and for tea I had pork casserole with veg.
How do you input meals like these into my fitness pal? Do I put each item in individually? I also find some of the quantities hard to input especially if I am only having a bit of everything.
It did focus me on drinking more water though so that was a positive.
It's a hard one with mixed dishes. I try to work out the weight of each individual component, sometimes requiring a guess, and enter each one separately, then save that as a "my meal" for the future so I only need to do it once. If it's a casserole type dish shared with hubby I halve or quarter the totals according to how much of the whole I eat. Does that make sense? I use myfitnesspal daily as it helps my calorie control.
