It is still getting lower...
This morning it was 5.7.
After brekkie. 9.5.
Surely the drop is showing everything is improving?
At the moment I eat very little carbohydrate anyway, I never have done.
I eat 2 slices of proper bread, one in my breakfast and usually toast and marmite late at night.
I luckily don't have a sweet tooth. I don't eat sweets or chocolate or pies or pastry or biscuits. I talked to my Mum and she said whenever we used to go out and eat fish and chips in a restaurant ( Big treat was that ) I used to at the fish but leave the batter.
In the evenings I eat usually a piece of liver with broccoli and courgettes cooked in water with no butter. No potatoes or gravy. With onions and mushrooms and tomatoes cooked in a little olive oil.
Or a pork chop. I cook with very little oil and drain everything really well of oil afterwards.
But for the last couple of weeks I have been having an enormous salad consisting of lettuce, cucumber, grated carrot, cherry tomatoes.radish and celery...Oh yes,and half an avocado. And prawns and smoked salmon and crabsticks.( My DN said watch out for the prawns as they are low in fat but yet high in cholesterol ) And a small squirt of Hellmans. Can't stand the low fat mayonnaise.
I always eat this way anyway pretty much. The biggest surprise this week was the banana I ate which sent my levels up to 18.9
The massive weight gain I have experienced over the last 5 years is a combination of being diagnosed with Emphasyma which has severely effected my exercise as getting breathless freaks me out....Going through the menopause and yes...drinking too much rose wine. Up until I was 50 I was fit ( gardener) and I had a boyfriend. Which kept me fit in other ways. I weighed 10 stone and never had to think about my weight as I was so active.
Now I weigh 15 stone and my self confidence is extremely low. So this Type 2 diagnosis could be a blessing in disguise. I have substituted tea for water. (Can't stand sweeteners) So am saving around 1.500 calories a week.
And I no longer drink Brandy and Orange (dribble) And drink dry white wine in moderation.
I know I have lost a bit of weight. I haven't any scales yet but they are next on my shopping list.
And this site is essential. For me anyway...
Thanks to you all for your advice, wisdom and encouragement.
