I installed the MyfitnessPal app last night and it's an absolutely fantastic and easy way to keep track what you are eating. It shows carbs, fats, protein and also all the other nutritional info you need. A very handy part of this app allows you to set nutritional daily goals or targets to make sure you don't overdo carbs etc. You can also load in meals that you eat on a regular basis so that you don't have to keep searching for it and theres a very handy barcode feature that allows you to scan a products barcode using your phones camera. This brings up the product and it's nutrition and saves you having to search the Web!
I thought I was quite good at recording my nutrition but having programed in a few meals already I can see that I have been wrong!
Once I installed the app I also used this link:
http://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/change_goals_custom

This allows you to set all of your custom settings such as daily fats, protein and carbs etc. Got to say thanks to @robert72 for the recommendation, this is hopefully going to make a huge difference to me personally!! Give it a go!

I have been using this app since just before diagnosis at the end of Aug. I have faithfully logged stuff every day. I love that you can programme in your recipes and reuse them, and scanning the bar codes on foods makes the whole thing so easy! I like seeing the carbs and my total daily count - I have reduced from 260g daily average (old fashioned low far diet) to below 50 most days. I love that my phone counts my steps and this links into the app and I can "eat" the extra calories if I choose to! In total so far I have lost 40 pounds in 78 days! That is the best average weight loss ever in my whole life! My BS is down into the 5s and 6s most of the time! I think it is the best app ever!
