Hello everyone,
Since my earlier post, I have now found out that the 507 was something else and my HBA1C is 7.1, after 3 months on 10 units insulin a day.
I have been allowed to tentatively come off insulin but start taking gliclazide. There seems to be some uncertainty to my type, as do not really fit any typical description - no antibodies, slimish, 34, no family history. They are swaying towards MODY. Due to this uncertainty, I am concerned about the gliclazide possibly wearing out my pancreas even more, after reading commments etc. The metformin was not advised as I am not overweight. Grateful for any reassurance please.
