Hey,

Need some advice, Iv put my little man onto formula because my milk has dried up, before he was on breast and then a top up bottle.
Now he's on just formula Iv noticed 2 or so hours after a feed he's grumpy and pulls his legs up as if he's in pain! he's really unsettled and he never used to be like this!
I used infacol but don't know if it's just wind he's not bringing up.
He's on aptamil first infant milk, could this be the problem?

Thank you xxx

Hi,I used to work in a pharmacy before Ill health stopped me...
Congrats on your baby.....
Aptamil is a good choice....because of formula ,yes, your babe could be experiencing wind pains.....you are probably already doing this, but you need to wind a bit more than with breast milk, also you might need to change teat size, sometimes it comes through the bottle too fast or too slow, either way creates air bubbles.....
As a mum of 3 and a grandma of 6 (youngest just a few weeks) some of which have had to change from breast to bottle,we have found this works.
Incidentally if colic becomes a problem there are some drops called colief that help, but hopefully you'll little one will soon get used to formula....hope this gives some help, but for professional advice consult your health visitor.......

Thank you, the teat size is 1. And we make sure we wind him after every ounce of 2!
He's a very hungry baby and he gulps it down!
We've brought some dentinox as well, is that better then infacol?
Xx

They are both pretty much the same, some prefer infacol some dentinox some nurse Harvey's........if you feel he is gulping with the feed there are teats to counter act this....there are also feeds for hungrier babies, but he is a bit young I believe for these, but I think seek health visitors advice....good luck....
