I'm having high sugars and want to try low carb diet.
I drink lots of coffee with skimmed milk.
I'm wondering if it's the milk making sugars high?
My diet is not good.
I have Ulcerated colitis so I eat to keep the bowel healthy.
Can you help please.
Maddy.

Hi,

Skimmed milk has 5 g carbs per 100mls, so it isn't really high in carbs. you would need to drink a LOT of milk for it to have a significant effect on your blood glucose and affect your HbA1c.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I think your blood glucose issues may be caused by the rest of the carbs in your diet.
