Hi
I'm the sister of a long term diabetic who has undergone amputation of both lower legs as well as a kidney transplant and the impairment of his eyesight. He has just had a fall as the cuff of one of his prostheses cracked releasing the foot and throwing him to the ground. We do not have a wheelchair here and, as he is visiting from Cornwall and will need to make a return rail journey with 3 changes I am hoping that somebody would have any suggestion for what I can do to find some help local to my home in Worthing in Sussex. Any help will be very gratefully received.

Hi patti,
I hope your brother is not too shaken up.
I was wondering if the Red Cross could help. It may be possible to borrow locally and then return it at your brother's nearest town.
You would have to ring on Monday and enquire and I hope that he is not going to travel before then.

Even if they cannot help they may offer another solution.
The only other things I can suggest are to ring your local Social Services or your own G.P. to see if they can help.
Someone else may reply who has been in a similar predicament.
