Hi Anon! I have a needle phobia too, as do some other T2s on here. I didn't want to self test, but realised I had to if I was to know how I was progressing. After reading reviews on Amazon I got the Accu Chek Mobile bg monitor. It has the Accu Chek Fastclix pricker attached. The pricker looks like a pen, and you don't see a needle. You hold it against your finger and press the top to use it. It is just a little prick, like the ones you get when you get a blood drop prick test at your GP surgery.
I was apprehensive about using it at first but now I can do it without thinking about it.
The Accu Chek Mobile costs about £20 online, ASDA pharmacies were selling it for £17 a few weeks ago. I would continue to use the Fastclix pricker even if I switched to using another meter. You can buy the Fastclix pricker separately, but I think it costs as much as buying it with the Accu Chek Mobile, so you might as well buy that.
