I've been type one for a few years now and i can't seem to maintain a low sugar level. I have weeks/months where my blood sugar is fine but then out of nowhere it goes really erratic. I have no idea why this happens and i dont change my lifestyle. Does anybody else have this problem?
I suppose the usual suspects would be a change in diet, change in excercise patterns, insulin cartridge going 'off' or becoming filled with an air bubble, underlying infection, hormonal changes, stress.
Do you think it might be one, or a combination, of these?
Happens occasionally. I usually put it down to hormones. Noone is the same. Nothing in nature is regular or straight. Sometimes, things happen. Learn how to adjust your insulin, having done a blood test first, ofc.
If you are really worried, check out with your diabetic nurse/doctor, who may be able to give you better advice
Lack of choice of insulin for newly diagnosed patients.
Dog owners who let their dogs poop in the street-a hazard for most, but worse if you're visually impaired!

Hi,
Welcome to the forum! You don't say what Insulin you are on or how long u have been diagnosed. Give us a few more details and may be able to advise further. As for "diabetic doctors" ,I'm sure those are few and far between! Sounds like you do need to speak to your diabetes nurse specialist though , if you have one.
I suffered severe fluctuations and other probs; your menstrual cycle can make things a bit unpredictable at certain times of the month,- but sounds like a bit more than that to me.
