My friend has been a diabetic for over 20 years. About 3 years ago she starting using the pump, which helped her tremendously. Unfortunately over the last few years her diabetic nerve damage is getting progressively worse. She struggles with walking, standing and the simple things. She's only 40 so still wants to be active. It seems to affect her left side worse, is there anything u can recommend that will ease her very painful limbs. Many thanks

Evening Primrose Oil is supposed to be very good for nerves, and Cod liver Oil is good for joints - go for the capsule in both cases... Poundland sell bottles of each, plus a combined EPO/CLO capsule.

As for the pain, she needs to speak with a Neuropathy specialist - she's entitled to it under the NICE guidelines of care for diabetics.

She already see's the Neuropathy specialist but I will mention the primrose and cod liver oil. Many thanks

Ask the specialist about getting help from Medical Psychology, they may have a Program that may help, they often offer Techniques that help to live with the pain and improve day to day living, My Psychologist has been so helpful, and it is her that has helped me cope with my chronic pain from Nerve Damage, and to cope with Dying !

Please PM me at anytime for more ideas or info, read my posts if you want to know about my history, especially from November the 1st last year, if your friend is on hear point them to my post too, it may help,

Anyway, best of luck to your friend,

Has your friend did the Nerve Conduction Test or any other tests? I will undergoing NCS this May. My GP gave me a pregablin for my neuropahty. Still the GP says to inform the specialist regarding the matter. I w ill also see an Endocrinologist.
