Diabetic Neuropathy is a condition that effects the nerves, and is common in long-term diabetes, or where control has been consistently erratic over a shorter period. However, there are also other conditions that may also be the cause, for example repetitive strain injuries due to work or sports, so not everything is diabetes related. Might not be diabetes related. My boss developed ulnar nerve palsy which sounds similar to what you mentioned. His doctor said it could be caused by bad posture, inactivity or sleeping in a funny position. He had to have nerves moved in his arm, he was in pain for a few weeks and has a scar, but it's an improvement on the numbness and pain he had before the op. Anyway, my only real advice on this is to get it sorted as soon as you can, as the longer you leave it the more damage gets done and the worse the chance of full recovery. Hope it goes ok
