Getting your sugars in order is first and foremost but many of us ( me included) have found lots of relief ( mine gone) from the supplement R ALAHi there barabas - Having had a trauma related neuropathy on my ribs a couple of years ago, that lasted several months, I empathise with the pain you must be going through. That said, fortunately, I haven't had diabetic neuropathy.
I have seen a number of threads, over time, just like yours, and can earnestly say that a number of people have found their neuropathy has eased, or indeed disappeared as they have grasped grappled their blood sugars into order.
Whether you, or anyone else can halt or reverse their neuropathy, nobody knows until they try.
Really, really good luck with it all.

Haha. CORRECT!! Sorry to hear of your bone trauma but glad it's healed and neuropathy gone !Kristin, I think you might have meant to respond to @barabas ?
(My traumatic neuropathy sorted itself out when the bone trauma healed. I'll spare you the details.)
Mine did too. Its back now not on r-ala but having an op in a few months and don't want any unknowns to complicate surgery.Getting your sugars in order is first and foremost but many of us ( me included) have found lots of relief ( mine gone) from the supplement R ALA
