I have been told that I need a new knee joint but because of multyipal surgeries and the fact that I have diabetes they've told me it would be a complicated procedure with all types of complications and a posibility that the neuropathic pain I have in my knee may increase has anyone had this operation & what were the effects .
I have neuropathy in my left leg and two months ago I had a hip replacement on same leg . The consultant sent me to the pain clinic for a year first as did not want to operate on me as I have had 2 strokes and diabetic . In the end he agreed to operate and I can now walk much better with my hip but I notice the neuropathy much more it seems to have got worse so your doctor may be correct.
I have just had my results from a left and right knee MRI's and both my knees need replacing but because my right leg is rotated 90 degrees it's going to be complicated and the doc said because of the diabetes and neuropathy and all the other probs I have, it wont be easy, but I'm confident and so is he that a lot of the pain will be alleviated and my walking will be easier.
