I am 54 years old; I was diagnosed type 2 about 15 year ago, and on metformin 1gm twice a day. In the last 3 months, I have severe burning sensation and pain on my feet which is progressively ascending up the feet. In the last 1 week, this spread to hands and this heaviness and numbing sensation on my lips . I have seen 3 doctors who keep increasing metformin dosage. Is this neuropathy or is there an underlying problem?
