New diabetes meter and suggestions for least painful testing

Hello everyone,

I've been approved for a Freestyle Libre, due to frequent hypos and testing > 8 times a day. However, it'll be a few months before I actually get it, and in the meantime, my fingers are cut to pieces with testing. I change the lancet, but the sides of my fingers are constantly sore, even between tests.

I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a meter which comes with a lancing device which would be less painful? And if I bought it myself, would I be able to get it prescribed for me on the NHS?

Many thanks!

Get a FastClix lancing device they are better to use than some of the single shot nail guns that are out there.

I use both a FastClix and MultiClix, the six lancet magazine lasts me through six boxes of fifty strips.

T2 here, but my Freestyle Freedom Lite seems to require a lot less blood than some other testers, and so a smaller lancet.
