Hi I registered a long time ago but only got round to looking at the forum properly today.
My now 14yo son was diagnosed T1D in January 2012, severely dehydrated and in DKA after being repeatedly misdiagnosed by our previous GP.
He had 18 months of gruelling injections (gruelling because we had a very bad hospital team who didn't help us and we had to inject every 2 hours to make up for lantus not working due to a misunderstanding...)
We changed hospitals and he is now happy on the Omnipod patch pump system.
I am also concerned for myself about Prediabetes as a woman with PCOS and other health issues, so desperately trying to lose weight and get healthy and hopefully avoid T2D. I have recently been put on Metformin.
We recently moved towards a plant based diet as a family. I am hoping that, eventually, that might help my health.
Also, not related to Diabetes... is it all D chat here? Or can we talk about fun things?
