I suspect that changing your insulin because the new one comes in a better pen is the wrong way to be looking at it.

Of course you are right, but I've been diabetic for more than 30 years and I have been on lots of different insulins, including some experimental ones that didn't eventually get licensed and to be honest I've not really noticed much difference in any of them. (I guess that I'm lucky in that) The thing that does make a difference is my own degree of precision and care. Although I take Lantus I do inject twice per day because that seems to give better control. Now this new insulin seems to have some very good features, and some people have to try it so that they can report back on forums such as this. Because I can rarely remember if I have actually taken insulin the possibility of using the memoir pen is a very big incentive. I'm also kinda hoping that someone from Sanofi actually comes across exchanges such as this and that they get shamed into producing a recording pen, because in the days of the iWatch and programs that will remind you of the birthday of someone you haven't seen in 20 years it's a bit of a scandal that (especially given the vast profits that Lantus net them) Sanofi can't be bothered to make a half decent pen.
I've noticed that my Solostar Lantus pen lid attaches one of two ways round: Either with the clip pointing to the main label, or the clip pointing to the "back" of the label.
I inject Lantus twice a day - so I make sure that it's pointing to the label after the morning injection, and the back after the evening one. Then I can always check if I missed an injection
How right you are! Had to look OP up on the net to realise that it was me. So you've taught me something as well. Thanks DiamaticAlso if OP is like me then he would likely forget to use the notebook as well lol. If you can't remember if you injected you probably won't always remember to write things down as well.
You could get a NovoPen Echo for your LevemirHmm, a pen which tells you when you last injected would be good for me; I forgot my Levemir a couple of weeks ago and ended up in hospital after suffering a "cardiac event" at work...
Get one for your NovoRapid as wellCheers! I've got a review coming up so I'll chat with my diabetic nurse about it.
Ow!! You all right now?Hmm, a pen which tells you when you last injected would be good for me; I forgot my Levemir a couple of weeks ago and ended up in hospital after suffering a "cardiac event" at work...
Get one for your NovoRapid as well
