Not sure what I can say, was informed by doctor last week that I have Type 2. Well no symptoms, thirst or urinating. Anyway thanks for having me. Did a few tests on AC nano and read 6.4 upto 7.4 today before breakfast, I did have a coffee with sweatner in it but not sure if that makes any difference. On tablets 1 in day and 1 at dinner.

I recall nurse saying something like 150 or 180 something if that helps. I did not fast for blood test or was even aware that i needed a test until went doctors. I did finish a whole chocolate easter egg the night before my test, which again I was unaware that I was having one.

What tests did your dr do to establish you had diabetes? There a few different ones. Hb1ac is an average reading over about 3 months.

What treatment have your been prescribed?
Most importantly as a type 2 what have you been told about diet? It is the most important part of control often neglected or mistakenly advised by drs.

Read the links in my signature for a great starting point to get a handle on the way forwards using food as medicine, or not allowing it to be poison anyway.

Where are you located? I’m guessing not the U.K. by those numbers.
Was that a fingerprick test result as opposed to a blood draw from the arm? They are not sufficient to diagnose by, more like a screening test or a monitoring one once already diagnosed.

you could call your dr and get the test names, results and units and that might help.

I had some blood test last year, trying to remember............ I recall having one every 4 weeks or so. Never got any results. I was experiencing some tenderness in my side and shortness of breath and was sent for another full blood count, inc heart function for heart disease. Test results show no issues with my heart but type 2 diabetes. Can't recall the actual numbers but above seem to ring a bell, but again not sure which are right 156 or 186.

The tablets are Metaformin 500mg

Tbh if you’re in the U.K. those numbers confuse me. Can I suggest you call your dr and ask re the tests or ask for a printout. The other option is looking at your results online if you have online access. Everyone in England is supposed to be able to get that. Metformin is the first level of intervention and “suggests” that your levels were not sky high, often if they were then other meds would have been mentioned
But regardless of those tests you obviously have a meter. It is your new best friend for now. Use it as suggested in the links in my signature and it will teach you a huge amount about what your body is doing and the food you eat.

Just done a test with meter, 5.4
That sounds fine or even good depending on what and when you ate. But it needs be be structured testing to teach you anything, not just random. Again see the links below that explain it

Well a strange thing happened to me on Saturday, I had my late breakfast/lunch at approx 11, well about 5 o'clock i began to feel a little light headed and weak, so I decided to check my sugar levels it was 3.4 mmol. So very low sugar, had some sugar and within minutes was ok. Can anybody explain how this could have occured
