Hi
Just discovered this site.
I am a Type 2 diabetic who for the past year has had my head in the sand regarding my condition never really taking my pills. All this has resulted in me being in hospital with BS of 23.5 and blood pressure through the roof.

I am really going through a very stressful time right now and feeling really low. I hate being diabetic as I can no longer eat all of the foods I love and comfort me. I am a keen cook and just feel so restricted.

guessing this is normal????? Need support ......

Maddy

Hello and welcome.
Take the time to browse this site, its full of useful information mostly based on personal experiences, you are not alone, any questions just ask, I am sure you will get a meaningful answer from somebody in the same circumstances

Hi Maddy and welcome to the forum. As Talos says, there is a wealth of information on here and lots of members who will be pleased to help you with any problems. I understand your problems with not being able to have the food you used to have but with a little bit of research, you can find some very nice, if slightly different recipes you can try. Here is a link to the recipes thread but there are also other recipes scattered around the forum:

I'm not sure how long you have been diabetic so forgive me if you already know this but here is a link to some basic information on managing diabetes put together by the forum monitors - you might find some of this useful and maybe different from what you have been told up to now. It could help you to get your levels and blood pressure under control:
