Hi there everyone.
I am fighting to lower my blood sugars. I have been for my review this morn to find my sugars have jumped from 7.3 to 9.6.
The doc says if they are not lower at my next 3 month review he will refer me on, maybe to talk about injections.
I am so worried and am petrified of needles, it takes me 10 mins to find the courage to do a finger pick test.
Just wondered if anyone has any advice.
thank you.

Welcome to the Forum.

Have you had advice from a dietician ? It sounds like you may need to reduce some of the things in your diet to help reduce your blood sugar levels.

Here is the basic advice that Ken and I put together to try and help the newly diagnosed Diabetics understand a bit about their Diabetes.

If this will help you reduce your Bg levels then you may not need to go on Insulin.

Hi Joanna Marie,

I was just put on to Byetta this morning which is an injectable drug for T2 diabetics and I was terrified too. It took me a whole load of minutes before I had the courage to stick myself with that needle too! But I can safely say, my fears and worries were unnecessary. You can barely feel the needle. It is so fine it doesn't cause any pain at all. I found that my so called "least painfull" lancer from my meter (Accu-Chek Aviva) to be waaaaaaaay more painfull!!! So if they put you on injections, don't be scared. And if you really can't bring yourself to do it, just ask someone to do it for you
