New T2D on Metformin 500g daily.

Hi.
Today feeling light headed, slight headache during morning..
BG was 6.7 after breakfast.
Just tested BG 5.0, is this too low?.
Dinners an hour away...
Is this the medication, been on 2 weeks now, so unsure whats right or wrong..

Checked BP 134/76 is good for me..

Also , whats best method to stop early hypo?.

Any advise welcome. Mo.
 
Hi what medication are you on? BG of 5.0 isn’t too low but if your BG has been much higher than that, the light headedness could be you getting used to the adjustment. It’s best to test before you have your meal then again 2 hours after then you can see if you’re having any reactions to the food you’re eating.

I'm Metformin 500g x1 daily...
Am testing daily before , after meals..
Pre Lunch was 7.6, and see what rate it is in 1.1/2 hrs..
Was 5.6.. then 6.4 pre Tea, 6.2 after tea.

Seem to be within 5- 8... on worst days..
