I am not well controlled I have high blood pressure which is medicated, colestrol again medicated and very over weight and not sure I care anymore
on the plus side I gave up smoking 2.5 years ago

Need some help but dont know where to go

Hi stephj and welcome to the forum There are tests to show whether you are type 1 or type 2 - these are called GAD antibodies and c-peptide tests. I don't think the test is routinely done when you are diagnosed so you would have to ask for it. You need to know what type you are and be treated correctly for it. There is a current thread on this subject that you might like to take a look at:

Well done for having given up smoking - I know from personal experience how difficult that is. You need some help with your control and your weight. This basic information written by the former Monitors should help you with both. Ask as many questions as you like as there is always someone here to help.
