Hello
Long term diet controlled.
After a recent spike over several months, Metformin has been advised. One a day to start. Using a Libre cgm to monitor results.
Any advice on which meal to take it before?
I'm low carb so most meals 15g carb at most.
Thank you.

Hi @Lizzypier

I have to be careful as we can’t give advice on how & when to take meds, did your GP not say when to take it? It’s a build up drug rather than a “work right away” medication so as long as you take it at roughly the same time every day that should be fine

From my personal experience I’m on a small dose once a day and I take mine with my breakfast every morning because I remember to do it then. I would advise to start with that whichever meal you chose to take it with when I first started I took it mid meal as this can minimise the not uncommon side effects of this medication- I personally didn’t suffer those side effects so it doesn’t happen to everyone but be aware most do even for a short time to be prepared for some “tummy troubles”
