Hello, I would like to introduce myself to the Forum. I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes early September this year. It was a bit of a shock, but deep down I think I suspected I had or was developing it, but didn't really want to know! I have felt a bit at sea with it all, but I went on a 'Desmond' course run by our local diabetic service. It was very helpful, but I still consider myself a novice in knowing about modern thinking and treatments in type 2. So, when can I take my 'L' plates off?

Welcome aboard hun i am Martina from British Columbia Canada, i am a type 2 for 6 years and on lantus insulin twice a day, feel free to ask anything

Hi Morgaine and welcome to the forum. You will have learned a lot at the Desmond course and were lucky to go. Here is some more information for you which we give to new members - I hope you find it interesting and will help you to get your L-plates off! Do a lot of reading around the forum and ask as many questions as you like - someone will usually know the answer.

Thank you marti and daisy1. The information was very helpful. It's good to know there is support from people who are living with and managing this condition.
