Re: New type1
Welcome Paul,
I'm relatively newly diagnosed myself (just ten weeks ago) so I can fully appreciate what you're going through and how much information is being thrown at you.
Just take it steady for now and keep talking to the specialist diabetes nurses, let them know what's going on with your sugars and doses and take their advice on any changes. Eventually you'll want to start carb counting and varying your dosage accordingly, but before you do I'd spend a lot of time on research first. There's plenty of information out there on the web, and I'd also reccommend a book "Think Like a Pancreas" excellent value and full of great information.
If you do exercise, make sure you do it regularly to try and keep your insulin sensitivity fairly stable, and always take your testing kit and some easily accessible carbs with you.
Last bit of advice, relax, stress screws around with your sugars as well.
