Hi.
I'll bump this up for you in the hope of someone coming up with something.
In the meantime, would you be able to give us a bit more info on things like insulin, diet, type of diabetes, that sort of thing?
What would you like to achieve?
Dear oneodlboy
It would be worth your while trying to reduce your carbs. Forget the standard "eat plenty of complex carbohydrates wih each meal " rubbish It WILL give you nice steady blood sugars as they promise. NICE HIGH steady sugars.
Cut sugars out completely. You don't need them and cut starches to as low as you can manage. This cannot hurt you, but might well help stabilise those sugars and get your weight down a bit. If you think you could stand it, the Atkins diet, would help with weight and blood sugars.
As to exercise, our sports centre runs chair based exercise classes and gentle water based exercises for people who cannot go "full on " . I know there are "keep fit" sessions for older folks too and for people with heart conditions.
People that feel just because diabates is a life-threatening "illness" it should be treated with kid gloves and nobody is allowed to have a laugh. My humour got me through abuse, near death experiences, serious and debilitating illnesses and lifelong pain and deformity - why give up the thing that works??
I may not be able to offer advice but can offer support - I have asthma as well as diabetes and am overweight and also just going througha remortgage - it's all good fun NATCH! Keep your chin up and do ask any specific questions - somebody will probably have some kind of answer
