Newbie and totally overwhelmed

You have had lots of good advice about cutting the refined carbohydrates from your diet and concentrating instead on real, whole food like eggs, meat, fish, cheese and leafy green veg - all the good things that nourish you without sending your blood sugar crazy. The only thing I have to add is as another person with a history of eating disorders - AN in my case. I have been in recovery for many years - well, half recovery: normal weight, but an messed-up relationship with food. It was only when I went low carb some years ago that my relationship with food was finally healed for good, and I cannot tell you how good that feels. Food is my friend, and I feel healthy and strong and at ease. Proper nutrition really can do that. So take heart: eat well and all sorts of things can get better.
