Hi i'm Nicky i'm 37 and have had diabetes for 18 yrs now . it is only recently that i have taken control of my condition and not let it take control of me . its gd to have others to talk to about the condition although with my family i've plenty to talk about as my mum ,brother sister & niece also have diabetes.
Been diagnosed since January start insulin sept. I too find it hard to talk to anybody about it. Mine was caused by having most of my pancreas removed. Dont even think wife understands whats going on with me :-(. At least on here can talk to people who do understand and going through it.
thanks guys i know being on this site will help me control my diabetes better , untill recently i had worked against my diabetes not with it . i've also been suffering from depression & couldn't see the point in anything untill i used my insulin to overdose . thankfully i am well due to a change in my anti -d s . i feel i've been given the oppitunity to finaly take charge of my life coz we only get one
Hi
I was diagnosed with type 2 approx 7 years ago and have controlled it really well. My review this month has showed up that I now have to take tablets and it has hit me pretty hard. It now makes it all too real. I have been prescribed Metformin can u give me some advice as to how to handle this and I also like a few glasses of wine which from the information I have looked up I will not be able to do anymore. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
