Hi,
I am a T1, and from Turkey, and I found this site very helpful to gain knowledge about diabetes, keep my motivation high to my diet, and share my 15 years of experience, if needed.
The "atmosphere" here is so good that makes me more energetic, keeps me focused on my dieting because of the public spirit's willingness to help each other.

Just out of interest, what's the healthcare system like in Turkey - do you get your meds for free or do you have to pay for everything yourself?

I get %90 coverage from government, as we all have to pay for health insurance every month, though, until the retirement. I guess you have that there, too, right?Some meds or brands need %10 extra payment as they are not listed as a full coverage by the gov., you could use the one brand that is listed to get them for free, which are said to be not that good in quality such as strips and pills. I do not pay for my insulin and novofine needles. I use strips, insulin, and needles, not any form of pills.
