Newbie Type 2 Going Downhill!

Thanks for all the advice.

I clearly need to do a bit of research. Having thought about it overnight, I have decided that a reduction in carbs is achievable and doable. Not sure wether I could go straight down to 50g a day, but the first thing I will do is either eliminate, or drastically reduce starchy carbs in the evening, and not compensate during the day. That should put me on less than 150g a day. The immediate aim is to get overnight sugar levels down to an acceptable level so that I can avoid a hospital referral when I see my GP next week.

The meds don't seem to affect overnight levels. had about 50g of carbs, before 8pm. At 11:00 BG was 9.3mmol, this morning it was 11.2mmol. Seems to be a pattern. Every night it goes up by about 2mmol. Ironically, my night time readings seem to be lower if I have a few glasses of wine, but still get the overnight rise.

Tracey, thank for your very generous and kind offer to help.

However, having looked at your website I have some concerns.

Firstly, you say you are a healthcare professional, but make no mention of qualifications, background or any professional organisations that you belong to.

Secondly, there is no mention of case studies, trials or research that you have conducted, other than a testimonial by "Sheila"

Thirdly, there is no information on what your services cost. It says you need to consult over a period of months, so how much will it cost me.

Fourthly, your facebook page suggests you are no more than a self styled "lifestyle" coach. Run out of female high achievers?

There is no contact address on your website, and very little information, in the website looks like something I could knock up in my lunchtime.

Do you subscribe to a code of ethics, other than get rich at the expense of vulnerable people?
