No I wouldn't imagine it is as it's specifically for those with type 2 diabetes. You would be be better just eating normal healthy foods but cut back on the calories you consume to a point that you start losing weight, make an appointment with a dietitian who will look at your daily diet and recommend ways to reduce your calorie intake.
Nic, it certainly won't reverse your diabetes as it claims to do for type 2s. Also, 600 calories a day is very hard to maintain. If I were you I'd stay clear of this diet!
