Hi
i have been diagnosed with a triple whammy - type 2 diabetes , high blood pressure and high cholestoral - apparently all inherited from family background and am now on 3 lots of pills a day- I am also overweight and need to loose weight -
I have been looking at the forums and am realising that there is more to this than I realised - I joined Slimmers world and realised that didnt work as I was advised to eat more fruit and veg however fruit is loaded with sugar so didnt loose a pound! Have not really had any suggestions from the diabetic clinic and certainly no offer around testing kits or information about High Carb foods and etc so feel a bit cheated as am coming up to my next blood test and worrying that there is not much difference in my weight - feel a bit at sea and not too clear how to get the pounds off!
Any suggestions greatly appreciated !

Evidence is inconclusive for an ideal amount of total fat intake for people with diabetes;
therefore, goals should be individualized; fat quality appears to be far more important than quantity.
In people with type 2 diabetes, a Mediterranean-style, MUFA-rich eating pattern may benefit
glycemic control and CVD risk factors and can therefore be recommended as an effective alternative to a lower-fat, higher-carbohydrate eating pattern.
