My parents are diabetic, I work with many diabetic patients a lot and I understand communities are best way to learn. I look forward to learn from patients and their experiences and journey at different stages of diabetes. we have offline community of diabetes in Bangalore. I'm trying to get them to be a part of this community as well.
white rice/ rice besides sugar seems to be one of the global contributers to diabetes and white bread... and of cause all sugary drinks and eating lots of fruits... (and not using ones body daily by moving a lot ) not everyone eating a lot of all these things and living sedentary gets diabetes... so please understand that stigmata is not a good way to turn in on people who has been so unlucky to end up diabetic... it is not fair...
Yes I understand, a lot of Indians eat rice and that many diabetic are unable to stop eating rice as part of their daily meals. But at the same time stress also triggers in adversity of the condition, so that's why community works as a therapy for patients.
I am not really sure in what way stess contributes to diabetes, except that it can make it harder to be consistant in ones efforts... and in consistance in eating in a healthier style..

2. It is correlated vice-versa as well
you by the way have a lot of interesting herbal ajurvedic medications that can maybe be used to help the health of many , maybe you also have some that lowers blood gucose in a more natural way... that would be exciting to hear of I think ?
how about the Triphala-herbs ?
okay didn´t know that... I myself have been a sufferer of cronical stress all my life, though this is maybe solved now where I am a pensioner and don´t have to run for work and satisfying all others than myself all day long..
Yes, and I wish you all the best in life. I sincerely hope that you are able to overcome stress and become healthier.

I really do all I can both by exercising and eating low carb... and having´t also lost 74 pounds ... I can´t do much more... my exercise amount is almost like doing a marathon a week so ... god help me get rid of my diabetes if not now
Yes, god bless you and whatever you do, do it with a smile!
Oh, it can be controlled with diet. Although I'm on some medication I'm hoping to ditch it now I'm getting A1C numbers that are technically prediabetic even though I was seriously bad only four months ago. That's down to what I eat, and it is no longer low fat, wholemeal bread, low sugar wholegrain cereals and so on. My point was twofold: the 'eat low fat and eat carbs' message is not universally the best diet, and saying that the cause is lifestyle is plain wrong.Sorry to hear about your experience. I still feel it can be controlled with diet. I've been working with some Indian patients (where diabetes is very prominent) and have seen good changes where sugar levels were controlled and medicine dependencies were reduced. It's not just eat "low fat" but a whole lot of changes in diet. About exercise, I don't have much experience but most of my patients were above 50 years of age so it was anyway difficult for them to move much.
