Hello,

My name is Laura. I am 26 years old and a newly diagnosed type 1. I was admitted into hospital been home and managing it for a couple of weeks now. Which is taking some getting used to!
Currently in the 'honeymoon period' - ( silly name in my opinion! )
Would be good to chat to people in the same situation as me!

I agree, honeymoon period is a silly name, lol. I have heard it referred to as being "at the falls" because the Niagara Falls are a popular honeymoon spot for North Americans.

I never had a honey moon period! Lol diagnosed now for 7 years..... I'm now 28
If you get a chance to I would definitely recommend doing the DAFNE course. Ask your diabetic nurse xx

Thanks Emma,
I've heard of it..
and you've just reminded me i need to ask to be booked onto it!

perfect!! I did it twice coz my insulin was changed. Even though I am fit and healthy I have a really high resistance to insulin. But that course has really helped me getting my ratios right
