hello,

I’m after some advice please. So I am 6 weeks pregnant, with 2nd. With my previous pregnancy I had gestational diabetes and they wasn’t sure if it was type 2. I was on metformin and insulin. After my son was born it disappeared and I have yearly Hba1c blood tests each year now. This year my results have come back high and I have been diagnosed with type 2, but my bloods were taken when I was about 2/3 weeks pregnant. I seen the diabetic team and am being very closely monitored because of being pregnant. I had been given insulin to take before each meal and before bed humalog and humalin I believe, 4 units and 6 before bed. I have to eat a snack 2 hours after a main meal and then a 2 hour break before my next main meal.

I am struggling to know what to eat, as I keep feeling hungry and I’m old not to under eat but I’m so scared of over eating. Snacks in between I am having digestives, or fruit. Breakfast if I have cereal or porridge it spiked my sugars to 10?

Have anyone got any ideas for meals and snacks please? Or what to avoid.

Thank you
