Hi, I'm Andrea and have recently received a diagnosis of sorts. Last year my HbA1c was 40, but after a recent spell of feeling really unwell I asked for a blood test. I was shocked to see my HbA1c was now 93, despite following a healthy low carb diet, taking regular exercise and being in a healthy weight range. It was hardly surprising when I bought a blood glucose monitor to see my levels were in the high teens. I've just had bloods taken to test for antibodies and am waiting on a CT scan to check my pancreas. Metformin and gliclazide haven't helped much so far, so I'm starting insulin tomorrow. My CGM is really helping me see patterns related to food and exercise.
Has anyone else had a similar experience? Thanks

Hi. Welcome to the club.
I'm similar to you but all my numbers were much higher. I started insulin straight away and then had tablets added a few weeks later. The only difference is that I didn't need any scans.
There will be some good days and some bad ones but just do your best and be easy on yourself. This group is a lifeline to me and there are no silly questions and there will always be someone who has been there and can offer advice

Thank you. It's all a bit overwhelming and lots to take in, but my diabetes nurse at my GP practice has been really helpful. I'm sure in the coming months I'll rely on advice and support here too.
