My son is currently at the hospital after I checked his blood sugars, which came out at 30. I am type 1 so its not a surprise. Is there any trials for new diabetics? for potential cures. Does anyone know who I could contact if there is a possibility of new treatments? Many thanks
 
Hi Robby1,

Some trials are noted on the www.diabetes.co.uk site, otherwise it may be worth contacting Diabetes UK and your main NHS Trust Diabetes centre / DSN as they may know of one in the offering.

Some Universities (with medical colleges) also run trials, but I guess it's probably all about location and timing.

Anyway, my condolences to you for your son - at least he does have a parent who will understand and can help him make the right choices as far as his diabetes control is concerned.
